As one of the Balearic Island in the heart of the western Mediterranean the climate on Ibiza is fairly typical of the region. The peak summer months for tourists are July and August and these correspond to the hottest time of the year with average temperatures at around 30 degrees centigrade.

August whilst being the busiest time of the year can also be quite humid. Perhaps the most pleasant times of the year is May, June and October when the sun is not at hot and humidity lower. Sunshine levels are highest around the coasts. The mountainous central area tends to be a bit cloudier and storms may occur particularly in August and September.

Rainfall peaks in the autumn months with lowest rainfall occurring during July. Although not cold in comparison to mainland Spain the winter can be cloudy and damp but like much of the Southern Mediterranean as soon as the Sun shines it soon warms up.
